Project description:
Phoenix Drilling were appointed as principle contractor and instructed to undertake a ground investigation for the redevelopment of the former Provanmill Gas Works in Glasgow. The development is set to be the home of a new Scottish prison aiding the overcrowding issue faced by the Scottish Prison Service.
The works comprised of:
12No rotary boreholes
10No cable percussion boreholes
40No shallow hydraulic percussive boreholes
Installation of monitoring wells
Environmental and geotechnical sampling
In-situ testing
Full time health & safety site supervision
Soils and rock core logging by in-house engineer
