Project description:

Phoenix Drilling were appointed by Ramboll UK Limited to undertake an investigation on the King George V Docks. This is the largest dock on the Upper Clyde as well as the only operational one within Glasgow’s city boundary, the investigation formed part of the development of existing infrastructure to create a new facility for the handling, processing, and export of scrap metal.

The works comprised of:

Concrete coring of 13No locations.

7No cable percussive boreholes to 7.00m depth

6No cable percussive boreholes to 15.00m depth

Installation of 2no groundwater monitoring pipes

In-situ testing

Geotechnical sampling

Working around tide constraints and dock operations
