Phoenix Drilling Limited was appointed to carry out an intrusive ground investigation along two proposed route options of the A701 Relief Road and A702 Spur Road project for Midlothian Council.
The works comprised of:
Compound set up
56No cable percussive boreholes depths of up to 15m bgl – including rotary follow on
26No rotary boreholes (both open holed and cored) to depths of 70m bgl
Installation of monitoring wells
Excavation of 25No trial pits
Monitoring of ground gases throughout drilling operations
In-situ testing
